Wolf et al. [167] demonstrated that the CDHF diet increased the incidence of HF-induced HCC by 10-fold (Table 3), unraveling an interaction between inflammatory cells (natural killer and CD8+ T lymphocytes) and hepatocytes that lead to liver damage, canonical NF-kB signaling activation hence promoting NASH-to-HCC transition (Figure 4A). Here, NFKB1 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
