A recent study by Huang’s group found that, in an NAFLD rat model, the activation of the transcriptional network of HNF4α with HNF4α-specific small activating RNA (saRNA) reduces the liver triglyceride, increases the high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein ratio, and decreases the white adipose tissue and body weight ratio [99]. The gene discussed is HNF4A; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
