CRP and gestational diabetes: Our results illustrate a similar connection between increased fiber intake and reduction of classic risk factors for GDM and other metabolic complication in pregnancy; a 1 g increase in fiber intake was associated with a 0.26 kg decrease in body weight, a 0.19 kg/m2 decrease in BMI, a 0.22% decrease in HbA1c, and a 0.19 mg/L decrease in CRP.
