EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Classic examples of such molecules are: imatinib, a BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in chronic myeloid leukemia; vemurafenib, a BRAF seronine/threonine kinase inhibitor for the treatment of melanoma; or osimertinib, approved by the FDA and the EC in 2017 for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer in the presence of the EGFR T790M mutation [4,5,6,7].
