Interestingly, two years before, Karaglani and coworkers studied pharmaco-epigenetic correlations among promoter methylation at KCNJ11 and ATP binding cassette subfamily C member 8 (ABCC8) genes and mild hypoglycaemic events in Greek T2D subjects under sulfonylurea treatment (n = 88, who experienced, and n = 83, who had never experienced hypoglycemia) and demonstrated for the first time that CpG methylation at ABCC8 was associated with non-hypoglycemic events in sulfonylureas-treated T2D patients [123]. This evidence concerns the gene ABCC8 and Hypoglycemia.
