We demonstrated that investigated GBM cells treated with GDC-0980 showed a reduction in serine 2448 mTOR phosphorylation along with decreased phosphorylated S6KThr421/Ser424, an effector downstream of the mTOR pathway that activates the synthesis of protein and growth [21], indicating that GDC-0980 inhibits mTORC1, which consequently leads to induction of autophagy. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and glioblastoma.
