Some NLRs, such as NLRP1 and NLRP3, are activated in response to oxidative stress or cellular damage in vitiligo [29,30]; NLRP1 and NLRP3 are components of the inflammasome complex that, once activated, releases caspase 1 and IL-1β and IL-18 [29,30]. Here, NLRP1 is linked to vitiligo.
