Mechanistically, Sun et al. provide the evidence of direct binding of miR-802 to 3′UTR of NF-kB repressing factor (NRF) and confirmed that miR-802/NF-kB/NRF signaling could be one of the molecular mechanisms governing the progression of obesity-related nephropathy. Here, NKRF is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
