The currently applicable prognostic classification of AL amyloidosis according to Kumar et al. is based on biochemical parameters assessing the myocardial function and damage degree (the concentration of troponin (Tn) and the N-terminal fragment of the B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP)), and the difference between the concentration of FLCs involved and uninvolved in the neoplastic process (dFLC) value [4,5,6]. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is AL amyloidosis.
