Another recent study shows that a combination of IFN‐γ, IP‐10, ferritin and 25 hydroxyvitamin D has potential for the diagnosis of pediatric TB and discrimination between TB and latent TB infection (LTBI) in a recruited group of 166 children (74 with active TB, 37 with LTBI, and 55 uninfected controls).[24] In their characteristic (ROC) curve model, an area under curve (AUC) of 0.955 with an optimal sensitivity (93.2%) and specificity (90.0%), indicating its high diagnostic accuracy for stepping into next phase with larger cohort validation and clinical practice.
