In most severe COVID-19 patients, an excessive production of various inflammatory cytokines and chemokines were observed, including IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, IL-9, IL-10, IL-17, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IP10, MIP1α, MCP1, MCP3, G-CSF and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) [8, 12–14, 16, 18, 26, 72–75].
