Compared with the probands (n = 57) with rare pathogenic variants in the non-AF1 domains of PPARγ2, the probands (n = 7) with rare pathogenic variants in AF1 had a lower prevalence of lipodystrophy (1/7), higher frequency of obesity (5/7), and relatively normal serum triglyceride levels; the triglyceride levels were only evaluated in two patients, one of whom showed an average value (over 30 years) of 0.14 mmol/L and the other showed a value of 1.7 mmol/L (Table 4). Here, PPARG is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
