CRP and major depressive disorder: Elevated CRP values or presence of gadolinium enhancement on the T1-weighted MR imaging resulted into higher BDI scores (CPR normal: x = 5.7, SD = 4.4; CRP elevated: x = 13.8, SD = 11.2; GE –: x = 4.4, SD = 3.5; GE +: x = 7.9, SD = 6.9), while the combination of both elevated CRP and gadolinium enhancement had a particularly strong impact on the depression score (x = 18, SD = 11.5).
