CRP and malaria: Subgroup analysis showed a higher mean CRP level in asymptomatic malaria patients than in healthy controls (p < 0.001, SMD: 3.01, 95% CI: 1.82–4.2, I2: 99.3%, 8 studies), but no difference was observed in the mean CRP level between asymptomatic malaria patients and febrile/healthy controls (p: 0.064, SMD: 2.79, 95% CI: 1.71–3.87, I2: 99.1%, 2 studies).
