As per another meta-analysis, low albumin levels (SMD= -1.13, 95% CI -1.41– -0.85, p< 0.001) and lymphocyte counts (SMD= -0.92, 95% CI -1.3– -0.55, p< 0.001) as well as high IL-6 levels (SMD= 1.21, 95% CI 0.93– 1.5, p< 0.001), leucocyte counts (SMD= 2.21, 95% CI 0.61– 3.64, p= 0.06), and prolonged prothrombin time (SMD= 7.99, 95% CI 4.64– 11.34, p< 0.01) were found to be linked with COVID-19 related mortality (Jutzeler et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and COVID-19.
