Yazdani and colleagues found that NETs and mitochondrial biogenesis factors, including peroxisomes proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α), mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) and nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF-1), are increased in HCC and CRC tissues compared to their nontumor counterparts. Here, TFAM is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
