The JQ1 compound was shown to bind to the bromodomains of BRD4 (Fig. 1), with higher affinity and stability than to other members of the BET family [107] and it has been largely used in pre-clinical studies testing BETi in ovarian cancer [67, 68, 72, 104–106, 108, 109]. The gene discussed is BRD4; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
