Growing evidence suggests that aberrant CCR2 activation by monocyte chemoattractant proteins can induce atherosclerosis (Colin, Chinetti-Gbaguidi & Staels, 2014), insulin resistance (Bai & Sun, 2015) and several types of malignant tumor (Qian et al., 2011; Qian & Pollard, 2010; Ueno et al., 2000). Here, CCR2 is linked to atherosclerosis.
