The clinical impact of key Th2 cytokines interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 on atopic dermatitis has been recently shown in clinical studies with dupilumab, a monoclonal antibody that blocks the IL-4/IL-13 receptor (Vangipuram and Tyring 2017; Rodrigues et al. 2019). This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and atopic eczema.
