Subsequent functional studies revealed that miR-139-5p overexpression results in inhibition of VICs osteogenic differentiation by negatively modulating the expression of pro-osteogenic gene FZD4 and CTNNB1. Therefore, our study provided new insights into the function of miR-139-5p in the pathogenesis of CAVD. Here, FZD4 is linked to congenital bilateral aplasia of vas deferens from CFTR mutation.
