The level of TNF-a was positively correlated with WBC, SAA, and IL-6 in the sepsis group and was also positively correlated with IL-6 in the infection group, which also indicated that the level of TNF-α could better reflect the progression of inflammation; the correlation between the TNF-α level of the sepsis group was better than that of the infection group. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and infection.
