The role of microRNAs in regulating the standard and novel cardiac RAS during aerobic exercise training in rats with left ventricular hypertrophy has indicated that exercise can increase miRNA-27a and miRNA-27b targeting ACE and miR-143 targeting ACE2, inducing higher mRNA expression and protein levels of ACE2, followed by an increase in Ang-(1-7) and AT2R (47) levels. Here, ACE2 is linked to left ventricular hypertrophy.
