In this regard, diastolic SR Ca leak has been mechanistically linked to contractile dysfunction (Ai et al., 2005; Sossalla et al., 2010a), and our group has recently shown that Ca/Calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII)-induced SR Ca leak is increased in patients with SDB (Lebek et al., 2020b). Here, CAMK2G is linked to sleep apnea syndrome.
