To test whether HVCN1 is upregulated in other neurodegenerative diseases, using R6/2 mice, the mouse model of Huntington’s disease (HD), we found that in the cerebral cortex, the proportion of microglia/macrophages that expressed HVCN1 in all microglia/macrophages doubled (Figures 3G,H). Here, HVCN1 is linked to juvenile Huntington disease.
