Based on the above-mentioned findings, OSBPL3 is generally upregulated in multiple human cancer tissues, in particular in digestive system carcinoma (e.g., gastrointestinal cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, and pancreatic cancer) and female cancers (e.g., breast cancer, cervical cancer, and ovarian cancer), which may act as an oncogene in most cancer types. Here, OSBPL3 is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
