To evaluate the mechanism by which CTSC involves in atherosclerosis development to cause SCD via regulating macrophage polarization and promoting inflammatory response, Western blot and IHC were conducted to measure the expressions of CTSC, TNF-α, CD206, FAK, p-FAK, and proteins associated with the p38/MAPK signaling pathway. The gene discussed is MRC1; the disease is Schnyder corneal dystrophy.
