The overexpression of neutrophil chemoattractants such as CXCL1, CXCL2, CXCL3, CXCL5, IL-8 (CXCL8), and CCL20 in the lungs of COVID-19 patients suggest that these cells can express neutrophil chemokines after SARS-CoV-2 infection (180). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL2 and COVID-19.
