These findings may have implications for osteoclastogenesis in SQSTM1/p62-associated Paget’s disease of bone where mutant SQSTM1/p62 proteins are unable to repress Ajuba-mediated NF-κB signalling thus leading to increased osteoclastogenesis and may have effects on Ajuba-mediated Hippo signalling in osteoclasts.
