IKBKB and arthritic joint disease: Previous experiments using a small peptide derived from the region of IKKβ that binds directly to NEMO, termed the NEMO Binding Domain (NBD), have demonstrated the therapeutic benefits of targeting IKK for treatment of a variety of pre‐clinical disease models including muscular dystrophy (Reay et al., 2011), Parkinson's disease (Ghosh et al., 2007), arthritis (Dai et al., 2004), senescence and aging (Tilstra et al., 2014).
