Folate receptor 1 is overexpressed in varieties of solid tumors (Necela et al., 2015; Huang et al., 2018; Kim et al., 2018) and is closely associated with the prognoses of multiple malignant tumors, such as triple-negative breast cancer (Ginter et al., 2017), ovarian cancer (Kobel et al., 2014), and non-small-cell lung cancer (Iwakiri et al., 2008). The gene discussed is FOLR1; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
