In this study, we found that pharmacological inhibition or gene silencing of GSK-3β significantly antagonizes ferroptotic cell death in HeLa and MDA-MB-231 cancer cells (Figs. 1 and 2), thus highlighting the ferroptosis modulating capacity of GSK-3β and expanding a novel function of GSK-3β in manipulating cell death and survival.
