The levels of serum tumor markers alpha-fetoprotein (AFP, 2.8 IU/mL), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA, 2.3 ng/mL), and cancer antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9, 9.2 ng/mL) were within the normal limits, whereas neuron-specific enolase (25.5 ng/mL) and pro-gastrin-releasing peptide (8050 pg/mL) levels were significantly high. This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and neoplasm.
