MMP9 and HIV infectious disease: Theensemble of the results achieved in this work has proven thatluminescent PLGA NPs, characterized by a high degree of biocompatibility, are able not only to deliver DRV through the BBB with an efficiencyhigher than that found for the free drug but also to retain the inhibitoryactivity of DRV toward MMP-9, which represents an important therapeutictarget in the course of HIV infection, after passing through the BBB.
