A careful examination of clinical characteristics known to affect graft outcomes, such as cold ischemia, pre‐allograft sensitization, acute rejections, donor kidney function, interstitial fibrosis, and glomerulosclerosis at time of transplantation, revealed that none of these differed between PAI‐1‐positive and PAI‐1‐negative patients (Table 2 and Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene SERPINE1 and glomerulosclerosis.
