Up until now, several bacterial infection markers including white blood cell (WBC), C‐reactive protein (CRP), interleukin‐6 (IL‐6), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), macrophage inflammatory protein‐1β (MIP‐1β), procalcitonin (PCT), tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α), IL‐2, IL‐8, and IL‐10 have been considered as the potential biomarkers for BSI diagnosis.6, 7.
