To evaluate whether there was a correlation between infection status and anti-IgG and anti-IgM responses to gametocyte-specific antigens (Pfs48/45.6C and Pfs230proC) or anti-IgG to the asexual antigen (EBA175RIII–V), the participants were divided into four groups based on the parasite and gametocyte persistence. The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is infection.
