Our previous studies have demonstrated that CAFs-derived IL-8 mediates chemoresistance to cisplatin in gastric cancer via nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation and up-regulation of ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1) [4], and that CAFs-derived vascular adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1) induced by H. pylori infection facilitates tumour invasion in gastric cancer via molecular interaction with integrin αvβ1/5 in tumour cells [5]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and gastric cancer.
