CASP1 and breast cancer: For breast cancer, DRD2 which promotes macrophage M1 polarization, triggers gasdermin E (GSDME) and induces pyroptosis, which is then downregulated (Tan et al., 2021), and through increased levels of caspase-1, caspase-3, gasdermin D and E (GSDMD and GSDME), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and tetraarsenic hexoxide could promote pyroptosis and thus inhibit breast cancer progress (Pizato et al., 2018; An et al., 2021; Li, 2021).
