HLA-DPA1 and COVID-19: Looking at the influence of the aforementioned alleles in combination with simple demographics (sex, age and ethnicity), we find that of the Overmyer cohort patients with the DPA1*02:02 allele, those from a non-minority background and females appear at an increased risk of testing positive for COVID-19 in that cohort (Fig. 2 and, Table S4; odds ratio [OR] = 6.33 [5.33–7.34], FET p = 0.0491 and OR = 7.33 [6.18−8.48], FET p = 0.0326, respectively, where the numbers in square brackets represent the 95% confidence interval).
