It has been shown that VitC selectively kills KRAS and BRAF mutant colorectal cancer cells by targeting GAPDH [32], which may also explain why VitC shows to be especially promising in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, where over 90% of the cases harbour KRAS mutations [260] and MM, where RAS family genes also show the most frequent mutations [113].
