In humans, DPY19L2 (Celse et al., 2021; Coutton et al., 2012; Harbuz et al., 2011; Koscinski et al., 2011; Méndez and Stillman, 2000) and SPATA16 have been reported as causative genes of globozoospermia (Dam et al., 2007b; Karaca et al., 2014), and putative mutations have been reported in PICK1 (Liu et al., 2010) and ZPBP1 (ZPBP) (Yatsenko et al., 2012).
