In the MCD-induced NASH mice, we observed increased hepatic CD68 expression, a marker of activated macrophage, associated with elevated MPO, iNOS, TNF-α, RANTES, and MCP-1 expression in liver and enhanced TNF-α, RANTES, and MCP-1 production in plasma. This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
