While HRD ovarian cancer cells usually harbor mutations in BRCA1, BRCA2 or other genes with similar features (traits which are collectively referred to as “BRCAness”) [22–24], HRP ovarian cancer cells are often driven by genetic alterations involving other pathways contributing to cell cycle dysregulation, such as cyclin E1 (CCNE1) genes [21].
