Additionally, metastatic melanoma patients (stage IIIB–C) with low ILF2‐U2AF2 mRNA levels showed increased OS compared to patients with high ILF2‐U2AF2 mRNA levels, which may be explained by the reduced RAD50 levels, the increased sensitivity to DNA‐damage agents, and a higher propensity to genomic instability observed in vitro and in clinical specimens.
