In breast cancer (Grabellus et al. 2010; Bravatà et al. 2013) and non-small cell lung cancer (Kim et al. 2010), baseline SUVmax was not affected by the SNPs, but when the analysis was restricted to lung cancer patients homozygous for the APEX1 D148E major allele, homozygosity for the SLC2A1 HpyCH4V minor allele was significantly associated with increased SUVmax (Kim et al. 2010). This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A1 and lung cancer.
