MTCH2 and malignant colon neoplasm: In fact, our data obtained from single-cell imaging experiments suggested that Mtch2 silencing delayed Ca2+-induced mPTP opening and decreased mitochondrial swelling and bioenergetics in Bax/Bak double-deficient colon cancer cells, indicating that the MTCH2 is required, and per se sufficient, for the preservation of mitochondrial energetics (Figures 1, 2).
