The pathogenesis of ENKTL remains unknown; however, recent genomic data have revealed a complex interaction between the Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways, epigenetic dysregulation, disrupted nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFkB), and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways as a possible pathophysiology behind this lymphoma [2].
