Biostatistical evaluation using delta cp (dcp) normalized data (dcp = cpdigested − cpundigested) revealed that differential methylation in early CRC samples is present in 20 of the 48 investigated targets (PITX2, DCC, TMEFF2, TWIST1, MYOD1, SPARC, TP53, WT1, CXADR, SERPINB2, S100A2, SRGN, PITX2, PENK, CDX1, BOLL, NKX2-1, TFPI2, DAPK1, THBD) at a significance level of p < 0.05 (Table 3). The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
