CFD and carotid atherosclerosis: Notably, subjects in the lowest quartile of serum adipsin were 1.94 times (p = 0.059) more likely to have increased CIMT and 2.91 times (p = 0.03) more likely to have asymptomatic carotid atherosclerosis than those in the highest quartile in multivariable logistic regression analyses, adjusting for age, gender, current smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, BMI, systolic BP, fasting glucose, total cholesterol, HDL-c, and HOMA-IR.
