Bilbis et al. found that 4-week supplementation of vitamin C could decrease the weight gain, blood pressure, glucose, insulin, insulin resistance, total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in a salt-loaded animal model (54), indicating a strong biological effect of vitamin C on the circulating profile in MetS. Here, INS is linked to metabolic syndrome.
